February Faves

Hey! So today I have the beauty products I used the most during February to share with you. A few of these things I just recently purchased and LOVED throughout the month, and a few were old favorites.

My first favorite was the Clean & Clear Persa-gel 10. Since I had my son in August, my skin has been TERRIBLE. I thought it was just stress at first, but now I'm sure it's hormonal. Either way I have never had so much acne before. I usually use Clean & Clear Advantage spot treatment which the main ingredient is salicylic acid. That has always worked well for clearing up existing acne, but it was no longer helping as much. So I decided to try something new. Sticking with the brand I love, I bought the Clean & Clear Persa-gel 10. The main ingredient in the persa-gel 10 is benzoyl peroxide which Clean & Clear claim it's the same prescription formula recommended by doctors. This acne medication has helped so soo much with clearing up and preventing acne. My skin is almost back to normal, and I seriously would recommend this product. You can get this at Walmart for about $6.

My next favorite is the Matrix Exquisite Oil Replenishing Treatment. This is a hair treatment that contains Moringa, Macadamia, and Argan oils.  This product claims to protect and nourish, add softness and shine, and help make all hair types more manageable. It also can be used over night as a deep conditioning treatment. When this line of oils first came out from Matrix, I was obsessed with the Strengthening Treatment for fragile hair. My hair is thin and was in very bad shape and that oil treatment was amazing. It was so good I never tried the other oils. I was seriously missing out on the Replenishing Treatment. It has helped my hair sooo much lately! I have stopped using all other products and only use this oil on my damp hair after I shower. My hair has been so soft and shiny! If you're licensed, you can purchase this at Cosmoprof. If you're not, I know you can purchase it at Ulta or a Regis salon for around $20. It is worth every penny. :)

Another favorite this month has been my Bath and Body Works body spray in the scent Sensual Amber. Anything that smells like amber I love. Throw in sandalwood and vanilla, I could eat it! (Its that good) This is a great fall scent, but I love it all year long. You can buy this at Bath and Body Works for around $14

I have also fallen madly in love with the Tartelette amazonian clay matte eye shadow palette! I have a whole review on it you can check out if you're interested. These eye shadows are seriously perfect. I've used them everyday this month and can't see myself stopping any time soon. I purchased this palette at Ulta for $44.

This next favorite has been my go to for quite some time. It is the NYX HD Concealer. I am currently using the shade cw 04, but I switch between medium and 04. I also like the yellow shade. I use this for my dark circles, redness, and acne scars. I love it because it never looks cakey, even on my super dry skin. I purchased this at Ulta for $4.99

My favorite lipstick during February was the Jordana Modern Matte lipstick in the color Matte Classy. OK, originally I only bought the Matte Dare lipstick from this line. The color was AMAZING...but the formula was way dry and made my lips look so bad and patchy. I definitely wasn't planning on purchasing any other colors. Then I saw Matte Classy, and the color was so perfect, AND Jordana was on sale buy 1 get 1 50% off! So I decided it wasn't much of a loss if it ended up being as bad as Matte Dare. I'm so glad I did! Its not nearly as dry or patchy. It's just a perfect mauvey-natural color. I purchased this at KMart for about $2

Now on to what makes my world go round. Music. These are my favorite, completely over played songs of February.

1. Ben Howard "Oats in the Water"
2. Ben Howard "Call me Maybe"
3. The Head and the Heart "Winter Song"
4. Nirvana "You Know You're Right"
5. The Civil Wars "I've got This Friend"
6. Adam Levine "No One Else Like You"

NYX Highlight and Contour Pro Palette

Hiii! Today I am reviewing NYX's Highlight and Contour Pro palette. As soon as I saw this palette on Instagram, I HAD to have it asap! I was about to finally give in and buy the Anastasia Beverly Hills contour kit which is $40, but then I saw this NYX palette for $25 and decided to try it first . This palette had 8 shades which made it an even better deal than the Anastasia one. I have never used a NYX bronzer/contour shade, but I have used their illuminators which I LOVE. My favorite one is Ritualistic, it is a gorgeous light golden highlight. So I had really high hopes for this highlight and contour palette, but unfortunately I was disappointed. These were really powdery and made a mess every time I put my brush in them. That I could live with, but they also do not blend well. I used multiple different brushes to see if maybe my brush was the problem, but I was still left with darker, muddy looking patches on my face. It seriously sucks because there are some great colors in this palette. I do however, like the highlight powders. Even though they are a bit powdery, I will keep using them. I especially like the banana powder to set my under eye concealer. Overall, I sadly would not recommend the NYX highlight and contour pro palette. Even though $25 is much better than $40, $25 is still quite a bit and I would expect better quality. I definitely think in this case, it is worth spending the extra money to get the Anastasia contour kit.

These are the first 2 highlight shades. The one on the left is a pearly white and the one on the right is a matte nude.

These are the 3rd and 4th highlights.

Tartes Tartelette Palette

Hi everyone! Today I decided to to review Tartes new Tartelette Amazonian clay matte eye shadow palette. I bought this a couple weeks ago and I love it so much, I've used it everyday since. This is the first Tarte eyeshadow palette I've purchased, and I seriously have been missing out. The quality of the eyeshadows is just unreal. They are super smooth and every single one is crazy pigmented. I also noticed these eyeshadows last a long time, with or without primer. Normally my eye shadow starts to look worn after 6+ hours, with these I've notice even 10-12 hours later my eye shadow still looked perfect. This palette is great for an everyday neutral look, or even a super dark sultry look. Ive been able to do so much with this palette and I plan to share some looks soon. So I'm going to show you all the gorgeous colors and some swatches and if you like what you see, I seriously recommend going out and getting this palette asap!

Free Spirit is a cream color.

Force of Nature is a nude.

Dreamer is medium warm brown.

Multi-tasker is a dark chocolate brown.

Caregiver is light pale pink.

Natural Beauty is a light nude mauve color.
Best Friend is mauve-y purple color. (My favorite)

Bombshell is a dark plum.

Super Mom is a light ivory cream color.

Wanderer is a light brown.
